How do I join/register as an alumnus or alumna? 

If you have a Monash degree or diploma, you are automatically part of the global community of Monash University Alumni. You do not need to join or register. All alumni can take advantage of the range of activities, events, Australian and international contacts and benefits the university coordinates.

How can I contact a classmate?

Provide the Alumni Office with the full name and degree details of the person you are trying to contact and we will check our database for a current mailing address. Although we cannot directly disclose a person's contact details (in compliance with privacy laws) we can forward a letter or email on your behalf. Please contact us for more information.

How can I update my address details?

It's easy to do this online, please visit the Address Update page.

How do I get a Monash Library Card?

Membership of the Monash South Africa Library and Commons is complimentery. Please visit the Library Access page for details.

How do I get a copy of my academic transcript?

An 'Academic Transcript' lists subjects taken and results attained and the degree that you have graduated with. A 'student letter' states only the degree you have obtained from Monash.'

The Student Services Centre can provide you with a formal copy of your academic transcript. You can submit a request in writing, by phone or fax. Please specify your:

• Full name
• Date of birth
• Years of study
• Student ID number*

Cost: R 85 (subject to periodic review by the Student Services Centre)

How do I obtain a student letter?

If you require a formal document from the University to verify your qualification or graduation, the Student Services Centre can provide you with a student letter upon request.

Where can I find subject descriptions from my years of study?

• The online student handbooks (1994-onwards)  
• Your relevant department 
• Monash University libraries. (MONINFO provide a fee-based service to assist alumni with this type of research. For further information, or to obtain a quote, email  moninfo@lib.monash.edu.au or phone +6 13 9905 2690)

How do I apply to graduate?

How do I obtain a replacement graduation certificate?

In order to obtain a replacement testamur (graduation certificate) you must write to or email the Graduations Unit at the below address. You must provide the following details in your correspondence:

• Full name, student ID number (if known)* and degree title
• A statutory declaration indicating what happened to your previous degree certificate and why a replacement is needed
• A current postal address
• A fee of $200 AUD, paid by cash, cheque (payable to Monash University), money order, Visa, MasterCard or Bankcard. This fee is subject to periodic review by the Graduations Unit.  

Please note that:

• The replacement degree will have the words "This is a replacement degree" in the body of the text and will include the original graduation date and the replacement date
• It takes three weeks to process the request and post out the replacement testamur
