A home away from home?

International students in Australian and South African higher education

An important symposium to be held at Monash South Africa 24-26 November 2010

Fourth in a series of international symposiums hosted by Monash South Africa, it will be held at its campus in Johannesburg and will examine highly important issues related to international students in higher education.

The program features distinguished experts from Australia and South Africa to discuss opportunities and challenges in these southern societies and provide a paradigm for thought and action.

Specific topics for analysis include:

• racism and international students
• social and cultural interaction
• cross cultural teaching and learning

The symposium is open to all with an interest in contributing to an agenda for change: policy makers, representatives of the media, government, education and the wider community are encouraged to attend.
