Calculating Unit Fees

Full fee students (international or domestic), can calculate their unit fee by multiplying the Annual Course Fee by the load of the unit.

The load (EFTSL) of the unit is calculated by dividing the number of credit points of the unit (6 credit points) by 48 credit points which is the equivalent full-time load per year.

Example:

A 6 point unit (semester unit) is 0.125 EFTSL, and the annual course fee is R37,790 the individual unit fee would be:

R37,790 x 0.125 = R4,723.75

What is EFTSL?

EFTSL stands for "equivalent full-time student load". It is the method by which a student's study load / fees are calculated.
