Admissions - International students

Students from outside South Africa or students who are non-RSA citizens are considered International students.

Step 2 – Meet entry requirements

  • All students must meet our minimum entry requirements
  • Students from outside South Africa will be assessed on an individual basis, as will students who are applying for admission based on qualifications deemed equivalent to the South African Senior Certificate

Step 3 Apply

All sections of your application must be completed and the declaration signed and dated. For online applications, a declaration confirmation is part of the submission.

Step 4 – Submit your application

Closing dates for applications

  • First semester intake: 31 December of the year before you wish to enrol
  • Second semester intake: 30 June of the year in which you wish to enrol

Step 5 – Application assessment

  • Applicants will receive written notification of the outcome of their application by post. Those with email addresses will receive confirmation by email
  • Successful applicants will receive a letter of offer and an enrolment pack confirming their offer and including acceptance documents,  application forms for accommodation (if applicable) as well as advice on how to apply for a study visa
  • Students attempting a final-year qualification will receive definite notification once the final results have been released and evaluated
  • If you apply online, you can view the current status of your application, including the terms of the offer and any conditions that must be met, by logging back into your application account

Step 6 – Accept your offer

  • To accept your offer, you must complete the acceptance documents we send to you as soon as possible and pay your fees.

Step 7 – For international students - Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) for issue of visa

  • A visa/study permit is required by international students prior to enrolment 
  • You will not be able to commence your studies without a valid study permit
  • To apply for a visa/study permit you will require a COE from Monash
  • To ensure that you receive your COE for Visa purposes in good time, please send us the following documents and information:
    1. Request for COE (pdf, 90Kb)
    2. Your proof of payment attached to COE request – 100% payment of your annual tuition fee is required before a COE can be issued.
    3. Copy of your passport with your passport number clearly visible attached to your request for a COE
    4. Your valid email address written clearly on your COE request
    5. Your student number as a reference number on the deposit.
