Visa requirementsOnce a minimum of 80% has been paid of your semester tuition fee you will be sent a Confirmation of Enrolment from Monash South Africa. Students must have this confirmation of enrolment in order to apply for study permit. Prior to leaving to your home country, you must obtain a study permit (endorsed with a practical training permit) from the nearest South African High Commission, Embassy, Consulate or Trade Commission. The South Africa study permit now allows for students to work 20 hours per week during term time and to work full time during semester breaks. Study permits are issued for the duration of your course. A refundable cash deposit/bank guarantee for repatriation purposes is payable to the South African High Commission. Allow two to six weeks for applications to be processed (not including postage).
