Botswana engineering scholarship students return home with honours

Professor Tam Sridhar, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Monash University
hosted a dinner reception on 27 February 2007, for the first cohort of
graduates sponsored by the Botswana Government to complete engineering
degrees at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.
The graduates, who have all returned to Botswana, completed programmes
in civil and industrial engineering with honours. Several of them are
already employed in local industries. Their new employers were also invited
to attend the event which was an opportunity to celebrate the students’
success and foster engineering relationships in the region.
The Faculty of Engineering at Monash University is one of Australia's
largest engineering faculties and has an international reputation for
excellence in engineering teaching and research. The faculty has a strong
record in international education and its graduates are making a significant
contribution to engineering and technology around the world.
The reception was attended by graduates of Monash Engineering: Moseki
Leseane,Michael Kikoloti, Osi Columbus Lesole, Omphile Maoto and Mogotsi
Peterson Mmutle and their families; Mr Alfred Ngowi - Dean of Engineering
and Prof O Totolo, Dean of Science of the University of Botswana; Mr Radipotsane,
Director, Ministry of Education; Dr Sebusang Sebusang, President of the
Botswana Institution of Professional Engineers - together with prominent
members of the engineering community.
