Monash South Africa and Southern Business School sign memorandum of understanding

A ground breaking memorandum of understanding has been signed between two private higher education institutions situated in the northwest of Johannesburg; Monash South Africa and Southern Business School. The agreement will straddle various areas of mutual interest such as research supervision training, joint research projects and research supervision.
At the signing of the agreement at the Monash South Africa campus, on 24 February, were Prof Tyrone Pretorius, Pro Vice-Chancellor and President of Monash South Africa and the Principal and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Business School, Mr Chris Vorster.
Prof Dina Burger, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor, Research, at Monash South Africa says: “We are delighted to have embarked on this collaborative relationship which we believe is of benefit to both institutions.”
Southern Business School offers Certificate, Diploma and Degree programmes on a part-time and distance-learning basis. As part of the agreement, staff at Southern Business School will be able to participate in the research training programmes offered by the Research Directorate at Monash South Africa and make use of the Monash South Africa Library including the fully digitised periodical and serials collection.
Another feature of this agreement is that students who have completed some programmes at Southern Business School can be channeled through the Monash South Africa Foundation Programme to prepare them for enrollment in degree programmes either at Southern Business School or at Monash South Africa.
