Admissions: How to apply

Republic of South Africa citizens or registered permanent residents of South Africa are considered South African students.

Step 1 – Choose a course

• Choose your course before commencing your application

Step 2 – Meet entry requirements

• All students must meet our minimum entry requirements
• Check if you meet the entry scores for:
  
  
  • South African Senior School Certificate (prior to 2008)
    
    
  • South African National Senior Certificate (NSC)
    
    
• Students applying for admission based on qualifications deemed equivalent to the South African Senior Certificate will be assessed on an individual basis
• If you do not meet the minimum academic requirements for direct entry, please click here to see if you meet the entry requirements for the Monash South Africa Foundation Programme as a pathway to your preferred degree course.

Step 3 – Apply

• Complete the Application for admission form (pdf, 814Kb) (also found at the back of the Monash South Africa Undergraduate Course Guide) or apply online
• The following documents are required with your application:
  
  
  • a legally certified copy of your most recent academic transcript/results
  • a legally certified copy of your identity book or passport, and
  • evidence that the English language requirements have been met (where applicable)
    
    
• Students are encouraged to submit applications to Monash South Africa based on their most recent set of academic results available, which may include Grade 11.
• If you wish to apply for credit for previous study (advanced standing), please complete the form for Advanced Standing (pdf, 144Kb) or attach documents as requested to your online application

All sections of your application must be completed and the declaration signed and dated. For online applications, a declaration confirmation is part of the submission.

Step 4 – Submit your application

• Online applications are received automatically once submitted

Closing dates for applications

• First semester intake: 31 December of the year before you wish to enrol
• Second semester intake: 30 June of the year in which you wish to enrol

Step 5 – Application assessment

• Applicants will receive written notification of the outcome of their application by post. Those with email addresses will receive confirmation by email
• Successful applicants will receive a letter of offer and an enrolment pack confirming their offer and including acceptance documents and application forms for accommodation (if applicable)
• Students attempting a final-year qualification will receive definite notification once the final results have been released and evaluated
• If you apply online, you can view the current status of your application, including the terms of the offer and any conditions that must be met, by logging back into your application account

Step 6 – Accept your offer

• To accept your offer, you must complete the acceptance documents we send to you as soon as possible.
