Apply online - step-by-step guide
An online application should take between 15 and 30 minutes if you have all your details and documentation ready.
Who can apply online?
All students intending to study at Monash South Africa (MSA) can apply online.
Step 1 - Find a course
- Choose your course before commencing your application

Step 2 – Have all relevant documentation and information ready
Please note:
- If any of your documentation is in a language other than English, a legally certified translation must be provided
- All electronic documents must be in pdf or jpg image file format. File size limit is 2.5mb per file.
- If you are unable to provide documents in electronic form, you can fax them to us, or alternatively post them to us (although this will delay the assessment of your application).
- To apply online you will need:
- a valid email address
- course details (name, code, commencement date) for all courses you intend to apply for
- a legally certified copy of your most recent academic transcript/results in file format for upload
- evidence that you meet the minimum entry requirements (eg. IELTS test scores) in file format for upload
- a legally certified copy of your identity book or passport
- documents that support any application for credit for prior learning (including all official transcripts or results from previous studies, plus copies of the subject syllabus) in file format for upload (or you can post these to us later)
- Some courses may require you to submit other documents, so please check the course entry requirement
Step 3 – Register and apply online
- Create an online application account and begin your application. You can exit and log back in to continue your application at any point - the application is saved after you complete each page
- Before you submit your application you will be asked to accept the conditions
Step 4 – Track your application online
Step 5 – Application assessment and offer
- Monash South Africa will assess your application and if successful, you will be sent an offer package via email and post.
The offer package includes:
- Your official offer letter
- Accepting Your Offer Booklet (e-mailed version)
- Accepting Your Offer Forms
- Fee Information
- Accommodation Application Forms
- Request for Confirmation of Enrolment Letter (COE) - International students only
Step 6 – Accept your offer
- Once you have received your offer from Monash, follow the instructions to accept your offer using the Acceptance Form and send it to Monash South Africa.
- International students must include their proof of payment of your fees for your first semester together with your Acceptance Form.
Step 7 – For International Students - Confirmation of Enrolment for Visa Issue (COE)
Your final step is to organise your visa / study permit.
* You will not be allowed to enrol without your study permit. Do not arrive without a valid study permit.
Please follow this procedure to ensure that you receive your COE for Visa purposes in good time:
Send us the following documents and information:
- Request for COE (pdf, 90Kb)
- Your proof of payment attached to COE request – a minimum of 80% of your semester tuition fee is required before a COE can be issued.
- Copy of your passport with your passport number clearly visible attached to your request for a COE
- Your valid e-mail address written clearly on your COE request
- Your student number as a reference number on the deposit.
