Journalism

This major equips students with knowledge of the principles, methods, craft and practice of journalism in the printed, electronic, online and video media. Particular attention is focused on the skills of lawful and responsible reporting in the economic, investigative, sporting and cultural fields.

How do I complete a major in Journalism?
Students must complete the two first-year units followed by the three units at second-year level, and three units at third-year level.

Note: The second and third year units will be available from 2011 and 2012 respectively.

First year:

Second year

  • Online Journalism
  • Video Journalism
  • Journalism and the Law

Third year:

  • Economic Reporting
  • Investigative Reporting
  • Reporting Sport and Culture
