Security on campusCampus Protection ServicesThe provision of security and personal safety for staff and students on campus is an important priority at Monash South Africa. Some of the measures that have been taken to ensure a safe environment include 24-hour campus security including regular security patrols, secure electric perimeter fencing with controlled single-entry access and CCTV camera surveillance. All staff and students are also issued with security access cards and students living in on-campus residences have swipe-card access to their accommodation. While the university provides a dedicated professional security service, a safe, secure community is best achieved when everyone in that community accepts and shares some of the responsibility. The contribution and commitment of staff and students is therefore important. Monash South Africa Campus Protection Services works actively with individuals and groups who study, work, reside at or visit the university, providing them with the necessary guidance and support to help build a strong culture of security awareness. If you have any security related concerns or inquiries, or would like to know what you can do to help keep the campus community safe, please talk to the Monash South Africa security staff, or contact the campus security office.
