How to apply

There are several ways to apply for your course with Monash South Africa - online, post, email or fax. The application process is the same whether you're a South African citizen, a registered permanent resident of South Africa, or an international student. (International students come from anywhere outside South Africa.)

All applications are considered based on individual merit, so the only thing to do is to get started.

First, choose your course

Before beginning either an online or paper-based application you first need to choose your degree or programme. Click on the relevant course title for a detailed description.

Apply online

Monash Online Admission and Scholarships Application will guide you through the application process step-by-step. You'll be prompted to create an account or log in if you have one already. You can save your application at any time and return to it later - just be sure to complete it and supply any relevant documentation, like certified copies , before applications close. Once complete, your application is automatically submitted.

Paper-based application

If you'd like to lodge your application by posting, emailing or faxing it to us you'll need to:

Once your application is complete submit it, along with your supporting documentation, in one of three ways:

1. Scan and send it via email

Keep a copy of your application for your own records. If you are posting it, ask the post office for a receipt so that you have a record of when you sent it. Allow 2-3 weeks for a postal application to be received.

Application assessment

If you apply online you can view the current status of your application, including whether you have been offered a place, by logging in to you account at Monash Online Admission and Scholarships Application. If you have applied by post or fax you will receive written notification of the outcome of your application, or an email if this is how you applied.

If you're attempting a final-year qualification, you'll receive notification once the final results have been released and evaluated.

You're in! Now what?

Successful applicants will receive a letter of offer and an offer pack. Your offer pack is your "how to" guide. It explains how to accept your offer, and is full of information about accommodation and life at Monash. If you're an international student your offer pack will also contain details about applying for a study visa and health insurance, as well as other conditions around accepting your offer.

You should also have a look at enrolment and orientation for dates and information about settling into your course, as well as events and activities on campus during the first week of semester.
