Why study the Foundation Programme?

If you don't meet the entry requirements for direct entry to the bachelor degree you'd like to study, the Monash South Africa Foundation Programme (MSAFP) can get you there. Offered only by Monash South Africa, the programme bridges the gap between your highest qualification and the academic qualifications accepted by Monash South Africa. What's more, it really works - 60% of the students who graduated in 2012 gained access to their undergraduate degrees by completing the foundation programme.

Course details

The foundation programme is split into four study streams which directly relate to the undergraduate degrees we offer. You can choose from social science, business and economics, information technology and health sciences.

You have two to three semesters in which to complete your Foundation Programme studies, and all the requirements of the programme must be met within this time.

Once you have successfully completed all of the foundation units relevant to your stream, you will qualify for one of the undergraduate degrees at Monash South Africa, or another Monash campus.

Guidelines

There are a number of guidelines which apply to students enrolled in the foundation programme - they're designed to make study easier for you by outlining everything you need to know before, and during, your time in the program.

Mentoring

We run a mentoring programme to help you achieve the results you want as well as provide you with support in all aspects of university life - academic performance, as well as the personal and social aspects of living and studying at Monash South Africa.
