Timetable Build Notes

The timetable has been built with the following features:

  • Although official teaching hours are 7:30-17:30, teaching between 07:30-08:30 has been avoided.
  • Tutorial rooms have been reconfigured. Tutorial rooms 3-5 will have a horse-shoe shape and all other tutorial rooms will have straight seating. Tutorial rooms will not be reconfigured during semester, so if you need a different layout in your tutorials, please ask us and we will swap your tutorials into the appropriate rooms.
  • All staff and students have been allocated a 1-hour lunch break between 13:30 and 14:30.
  • All teaching staff will have at least one non-teaching day.
  • Based on projected enrolment numbers, repeat lectures have been created for a number of units. As enrolment numbers become clearer, the need for repeat lectures will be reviewed.
  • Extensive clash avoidance has been built into the timetable based on information from course maps and enrolment patterns from 2008, 2009 and 2010. Not all combinations of units can be kept clash-free, so some compromises have been made. Please let us know if you have any concerns about particular unit combinations.
  • Students are encouraged to use MUTTS to choose electives that are not clashing with their core units.
